Put a Record On

I'm home! Cape Cod was fun, exciting, and busy, but I'm glad to be back. Pictures from Massachusetts will be coming soon once I catch up on sleep :)

Here's what I picked up while on the Cape for this little quiz.

It's an adorable necklace from The Plum Porch. And the best part is that it's reversible! I bought another one for my sister and she loves it, too.

Congratulations to Erika for getting all 10 answers plus the bonus correct! Email me with your address so I can ship your prize to you. Props to Michelle as well for getting a whopping 7 correct answers.

Here are the answers. Happy Monday, folks!

1. Beats so big, I'm steppin' on leprechauns/ Y'all get hit with the boom boom - "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black-Eyed Peas

2. He drinks a whiskey drink, He drinks a vodka drink/ He drinks a lager drink, He drinks a cider drink - "Tub Thumping" by Chumbawamba

3. Nothing's gonna stop me but divine intervention/ I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some - "I'm Yours" by Jason Mraz

Live and Learn

Congratulations to Ben! He was the grand winner with a grand total of ONE song lyric.

Another congratulations to Michelle who was the only other person to enter!

I'll take the blame for this epic failure of a contest. The lyrics were pretty obscure and difficult. But there's this thing called "google". Check it out :)

So here are the answers:

1. There's someone calling, an angel whispers my name/ But the message relayed is the same - "Bones" by the Killers

2. I'll be yours if you'll be mine/ I tried to change, but I changed my mind - "Mexican Wine" by Fountains of Wayne

3. You finally took my hand, you finally took my hand/ It took a nip of gin, but you finally took my hand - "White Trash Wedding" by the Dixie Chicks

4. If there's any answer, maybe love can end the madness/ Maybe not but we can only try - "Beautiful" by Carole King

5. Baby close your eyes and listen to the music/ Drifting through a summer breeze - "Little Less Conversation" by Elvis Presley

6. Put on these chains and you can live a free life/ Well I'd rather bleed just to know why I die - "This Time Around" by Hanson

7. Forget about your algebra and calculus/ You can always do your homework on the morning bus - "Nicest Kids in Town" from the musical Hairspray

8. Beneath the noise, below the din/ I hear your voice, it's whispering - "Miracle Drug" by U2

9. Got these four wheels spinnin' round/ Me and my two tote caddie gonna blow this town - "Cadillac Car" from Dreamgirls

10. We fell in love in the key of C/ We walked along down by the sea - "A Shot in the Arm" by Wilco

Better luck next time!

Ramma Lamma Lamma Ka Dinga Da Dinga Dong

If I've learned anything from 4 years of I.B., it's this:
1. People love winning things.

2. People love music.

3. y = mx + b

So I want to do a "Name that Tune!" contest. The first person to correctly name every song and/ or artist that belongs to each lyric will win. (Or whoever gets the most by Sunday at around 8 PM-ish.)

What will this wonderful winner win, you ask? Besides cool points for the rest of forever, the winner will also be the proud recipient of...

*Drum rolls*

*still going*

A $10 gift card to T.G.I. Friday's in honor of Friday. Plus, it's been neglected for a very long time and needs a loving home.

Here we go!

2. I'll be yours if you'll be mine/ I tried to change, but I changed my mind

3. You finally took my hand, you finally took my hand/ It took a nip of gin, but you finally took my hand

4. If there's any answer, maybe love can end the madness/ Maybe not but we can only try

5. Baby close your eyes and listen to the music/ Drifting through a summer breeze

6. Put on these chains and you can live a free life/ Well I'd rather bleed just to know why I die

7. Forget about your algebra and calculus/ You can always do your homework on the morning bus

8. Beneath the noise, below the din/ I hear your voice, it's whispering

9. Got these four wheels spinnin' round/ Me and my two tote caddie gonna blow this town

Good luck, y'all!

P.S. 100 cool points if know what song inspired the title of this post!
